GETTING HERE

Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport is the main Airport serving New Orleans. There are many options of transport to and from the airport. You can choose from taxi, shuttle, and bus services to suit your travel needs. 

Airport Shuttle- An Airport shuttle to the Central Business District will cost $20 per person one way or $38 return. This includes a price for up to three pieces of luggage per person. You must book shuttles 48 hours in advance for collection. You can purchase tickets in person at the Airport Shuttle Ticket Desk, located on the ground level of the airport across from baggage claim areas 3, 6 and 12.

Taxis-  To go from the airport to the Central Business District in New Orleans will cost roughly $33 from the airport. You can find taxis on the lower level, outside the baggage claim area. Extra baggage may be charged.A Taxis across-town from is typically under $10.

Bus- The Jefferson Transit bus service runs from outside Entrance no.7 on the Upper Level of Louis Armstrong International Airport.The fare for the Airport Downtown Express is $2 paid into the fair box which will accept $1,$5, $10 and $20 dollar bills.

NORTA is a bus service with 30 bus routes throughout New Orleans and you can find maps and schedules here.

Train-Amarak trains serve New Orleans however they do not serve the airport.

Ferry- The Algiers Ferry, which in operation since 1827 is a different transport experience around New Orleans across the Mississippi River. See why New Orleans is called the Crescent City as the ferry traverses the river's natural crescent to historic Algiers Point on the West Bank. You can board the ferry at the foot of Canal Street next to the Aquarium of the Americas. There is no fare for pedestrians and cars are charged $1. The ferry runs every day from 6 am - 12:15 am, departing from the New Orleans side at 15 minutes and 45 minutes past the hour. It departs from the West Bank on the hour and 30 minutes past the hour.

Streetcars- The Riverfront Streetcar will take you to New Orleans' most exciting attractions such as the French Market to the new Aquarium of the Americas. Open in New Orleans since 1926, the line has more than 200 miles of street railway crisscrossed the city. 

The Canal Street Line will take you on a five-and-a-half mile route from the French Market, along Canal Street through the Central Business District of New Orleans and into the Mid-City area. The line ends at City Park Avenue and the historic city cemeteries.
